Chamber Choir Joint Concert
The Grissom Chamber Choir will be performing in tandem with The University of Montevallo’s Concert Choir on the evening of THIS Sunday, October 29th at 7:00pm at Huntsville First United Methodist Church (120 Greene St SE Huntsville, AL 35801).  This concert will be apart of UM’s annual Choir Tour, and we are honored to have the opportunity to prepare repertoire for this night.  Chamber Choir students, your call time is 6:15pm in Full Concert Uniform.  All other Grissom Choir students, a 100 point extra-credit test grade will be given to you if you attend this concert as audience members and support your fellow singers!

BELK Sale Fundraiser
Last week, Grissom Choir kicked-off its 3rd fundraiser of the school year, the annual BELK Charity Sale!  Tickets for this event can be checked out and sold for $5, and all monies raised will go towards each students individual My Music Office account.  This is an easy and fast way to raise money for Grissom Choir fees!  Tickets were made available for student check-out last Monday, and students have 1 more week to fundraise.  The official sale will be held at BELK from November 3rd-5th, of which all remaining tickets/monies will need to be turned back in on November 6th/7th..  Please visit www.grissomchoir.com/fundraisers for all information.

All-State Auditions
The 2023 All-State Choral Festival Auditions will be held on Wednesday, November 8th, which is only 2 weeks away!  More information was emailed out last week (including the Permission-to-Travel Form) and the F2.2 Form that must be signed by Parents/Guardians was given out to students as well.  There are several students who have yet to receive their All-State music due to lack of payment.  These fees have been posted on My Music Office, and music has been available for students to pick-up once payment is received (MMO or Money Box).

Chamber Choir Collegiate Choral Festival Invitation
This year, the Grissom Chamber Choir has been invited to perform in the Alabama Choral Directors Association’s annual Collegiate Choral Festival on Tuesday, November 14th at Trinity United Methodist Church (607 Airport Rd SW, Huntsville AL 35802).  The Collegiate Choral Festival is similar to our State Choral Performance Assessment, yet is designed for college choirs to participate in.  Rather than being adjudicated, each of the college choirs are given 20 minutes of 1-on-1 time with one of the clinicians in a workshop-like experience.  To my knowledge, we are the first high school in Alabama history to have been asked to participate, a tremendous honor for our program and school.  A more in-depth letter (along with a Digital Permission-to-Travel form) will be handed and emailed out to Chamber Choir families once we have been given a time slot for warm-up, performance, & workshop.
