Good Afternoon Grissom Choir,
Several rounds of Congratulations are in order for many of our students! Congratulations to the 6 Grissom Choir students that were selected to participate in the 2025 AVA All-State Choral Festival! We are so proud of you, your hard work, and perseverance! Charlotte Hubbard Murray Hubbard Avery Morton Ava Howard Michael Young Jackson Catlett Congratulations to every student that either ran in or helped organize our Grissom Choir Glow Run this past Saturday! We raised over $1,500 to help support our various needs. Thank you!! Congratulations to our Chamber Choir on a wonderful time at the WHNT Studio this past Tuesday as they recorded several carols to be aired throughout the month of December. Thank you for your preparation, artistry, and joyful energy!! This Week in Choir… Women’s Choir: Finish reviewing Winter Concert Repertoire Finish learning Mary Sat A-Rockin Men’s Choir: Finish reviewing Winter Concert Repertoire Concert Choir: Finish reviewing Winter Concert Repertoire Chamber Choir: Finish reviewing Winter Concert Repertoire Continue learning AMEA Repertoire GCPA Board Meeting #3 - Approved At the most recent Grissom Choral Parents Association Board Meeting, the Meeting Minutes from last months’s Board Meeting on October 20th, 2025 was approved. These minutes can be found at www.grissomchoir.com/gcpa. Our Board Meetings are open to any Grissom Choir Stakeholder, of which meeting dates and times can be found on the Grissom Choir Calendar at www.grissomchoir.com/calendar. Car Wash Tickets Car Wash Tickets are IN. Students will need to pick up their tickets on Monday or Tuesday of next week, as well as their order forms in order to distribute out to purchasers! Sweatshirts Sweatshirts are in! For those that ordered a sweatshirt (and have paid the Basic Support Fee, Fundraised, or set up a Payment Plan), you may pick it up in class on Monday or Tuesday of next week! Winter Concert Performance Our Winter Concert is quickly approaching! The concert will be held on the evening of Tuesday, December 9th at 7:00pm. Student call time is at 5:30pm in their Concert Uniform attire, upon which new students will receive the week after Thanksgiving. Admission to this concert is $10 for all adults, and $5 for students, with doors opening at 6:45 for seating. Please remember that it is a requirement for all Grissom Choir members to participate in our public concerts. Winter Concert Final Rehearsal There will be a required final rehearsal on Monday, December 8th for all students directly after school. It is imperative that all students are present at this rehearsal in order to figure out how we will be getting on & off the stage, and to have a final run-through with our accompanist. Students that are not present at this rehearsal will not be allowed to perform at the Winter Concert. Men’s & Women’s Choir students will be dismissed by 5:30pm, Concert Choir students by 6:30pm, & Chamber Choir by 7:30pm. Please remember that it is a requirement for all Grissom Choir members to participate in our final rehearsals. Concert Uniforms New students will begin to receive uniforms the week we return from break. Please remember that payment must be submitted or fundraised for in order for them to be taken home and worn at our concert. Please reach out to our Treasurer, Amanda Francis, at [email protected], to ensure that this has been taken care of, or to begin a payment plan today! Concert Uniform Requirements Students, please remember that alongside your uniform, you are expect to also wear the following: Dress Requirements: Black closed toed shoes, stud earrings (optional). Tuxedo Requirements: Long black socks, black dress shoes. All Students: Nothing should be worn around the neck or around the wrists. Hair should be styled out of the face. Watches, necklaces, and hooped ear-rings are not allowed.
