This Week in Choir: Week 29

Good Morning Grissom Choir,

Congratulations to all four Grissom Choirs and their marvelous singing at this year’s District III Choral Assessment. The Chamber, Concert, & Women’s Choir received Straight Outstanding Ratings by our clinicians, & the Men’s Choir received Overall Superior Ratings.  Each choir was performance ready, professional, & sang beautifully.  We are SO proud of our students and the hard work they are putting into their music every day!!

Last weekend, 5 of Grissom Choir’s finest represented our program at the 2026 All-State Choral Festival. These students learned their music completely on their own with the provided practice tracks.  No director aid. No workshop where the music was taught to them.  We are extremely proud of their voices, and more importantly, their work ethic & character throughout this festival.  A huge congratulations to Mikey Young, Grissom Choir Senior, who was hand selected through a meticulous audition by their SATB Clinician, Dr. Anton Armstrong, to be a featured soloist.  Bravi Tutti!!

GCPA Board Meeting #7 - Approved
At the most recent Grissom Choral Parents Association Board Meeting, the Meeting Minutes from last months’s Board Meeting on February 9th, 2026 was approved.  These minutes can be found at www.grissomchoir.com/gcpa.  Our Board Meetings are open to any Grissom Choir Stakeholder, of which meeting dates and times can be found on the Grissom Choir Calendar at www.grissomchoir.com/calendar.

Grissom Choir Summer Trip 2027 Reveal Meeting
Next Tuesday, March 31st, there will be a meeting in the Choir Room at 6:00pm for the real of next year’s Grissom Choir Performance Tour scheduled for June 2027!  At this meeting we will discuss the itinerary in full, as well as the price and payment plans for this trip.  A Pre-Registration link will then be sent via Remind for interested travelers to fill out, even those that are unable to make this meeting.  I am very excited to reveal this trip, as planning for this trip dates back to 2019.  I look forward to seeing interested travelers at our meeting!

Solo & Ensemble 
For our 2 soloists and 1 ensemble that have registered for Solo & Ensemble, your $15 per solo & $25 per ensemble is due in the Money Box or MMO.  Music has been given out to all participants.  Our official date and time for this event is scheduled for the afternoon of Tuesday, March, 24th.  A Letter was handed out this week with all information.  All forms & monies will be due by the festival.

End-Of-Year Applications
We will have various applications for upcoming awards & assessments being talked about the week after Spring Break.  For those that are interested in applying for these opportunities, we will discuss them in full beginning this week in class:
