Good Afternoon Grissom Choir,

Thank you to everyone that came out and support our students at this past week’s Spring Concert. Congratulations to every student on a truly outstanding performance!  I am so proud of the growth that each of you have displayed over this school year, both musically and personally!

The University of Alabama "University Singer's" Concert
Tomorrow evening, The "University Singers" of The University of Alabama will be in town performing at First Christian Church (3209 Whitesburg Dr, Huntsville, AL 35802).  This concert at 7:00pm is free and open to the public!  Any student that attends and shows proof of attending to Mr. Ratcliff will receive an extra 100 point test grade in PowerSchool.  The UA Choir will also be at Grissom on Tuesday during B1 to perform for Grissom Choir.  Any choir student that is in good standing with their B1 teacher may come to the choir room during that block to listen to them perform!

Choral Accords
This year, Grissom Choir will host its third “Choral Accords”, an End-Of-Year Banquet where we will recognize all Grissom Choir achievements from throughout the year, as well as individual awards such as Paper Plate Awards, All-City, All-State, Solo & Ensemble, & Senior Scholarships.  This event will be held in the Grissom Auditorium THIS Saturday, May 9th at 7:00pm.  Grissom Choir students are encouraged to get together with their friends beforehand for dinner, of which they will then come to the Choral Accords and enjoy cupcakes after celebrating our year.  All current Grissom Choir students will have free entry into the event via the Basic Support Fee.  Admission for friends & family will be $5 at the door, of which an RSVP form can be found at www.grissomchoir.com/choralaccords.  This RSVP form will be closed THIS Wednesday, May 6th,

European Performance Tour Deposit DUE
With over 60 interested travelers, this trip is officially a GO!  For these individuals who received an email concerning our European Performance Tour, your $300 Deposit has been applied on your My Music Account and is DUE.  Next month, a full registration will be emailed out from our partner travel company, Sechrist Travel, to those that follow through with paying the $300 Deposit (per traveler) to Grissom Choir.  Thank YOU for helping bring this trip into reality for Grissom Choir!

End-Of-Year Assessments
At the end of this past week, we began our End-Of-Year Assessments for all underclassmen, which doubles as our Concert Choir Auditions (4 Scales, Yearly Assessment) and our Chamber Choir Auditions (4 Scales, Level 4 Sight-Reading, Prepared Piece (available on now!).  Those auditioning for Chamber Choir, please make sure you have signed up for an audition time-slot, which can be found on the Grissom Choir Bulletin Board.

Chamber Choir Baccalaureate Performance
The Chamber Choir will be performing at this year’s Baccalaureate Service on Tuesday, May 19th at Trinity United Methodist Church.  The event begins at 7:00pm, with Chamber Choir call time at 5:30pm for rehearsal.  Seniors will wear Cap & Gowns, underclassmen will wear Concert Uniforms.

Concert & Chamber Choir Graduation Performance
The Concert & Chamber Choir will be performing at Grissom’s Graduation Service on the evening of Thursday, May 21st at 5:30pm.  Student call time in the VBC Arena will be 5:00pm (or as soon as the doors open) for a Final Rehearsal.  Seniors will wear Cap & Gowns, underclassmen will wear Concert Uniforms.  Those not present at the Graduation performance without a priorly discussed excuse will not be a member of next year’s Concert or Chamber Choir

Fees
Please ensure that all fees (Basic Support, All-State, Uniforms, etc..) for this year have been paid in My Music Office. Seniors who have not paid will not be allowed to walk, and underclassmen who have not paid will not be able to register and receive their schedules for next year. Please look at previous emails from our treasurer concerning any over-due payments Grissom Choir related, or check your MMO account online!
