Good Afternoon Grissom Choir,

Next week is our last FULL week of school!  Students, as we begin to wrap up this school year, please take the time to look back at any missing assignments from this 9-weeks.  I will take any assignments turned in up until this Friday evening!

Chamber Choir Call-Backs
Next Friday, after the A2 Exam, we will be hosting call-backs for Chamber Choir auditionees.  A list of students that are needed for this will be sent out Thursday evening.  It is neither positive or negative if you are requested at this call-back, it is only for me to hear certain voices together that I may be unsure about.  If you are name is sent out, please be in attendance at this call-back!

Choral Accords
This year, Grissom Choir will host its second “Choral Accords”, an End-Of-Year Banquet where we will recognize all Grissom Choir achievements from throughout the year, as well as individual awards such as Paper Plate Awards, All-City, All-State, Solo & Ensemble, & Senior Scholarships.  This event will be held in the Grissom Auditorium on Saturday, May 17th at 7:00pm.  Grissom Choir students are encouraged to get together with their friends beforehand for dinner, of which they will then come to the Choral Accords and enjoy cupcakes after celebrating our year.  All current Grissom Choir students will have free entry into the event via the Basic Support Fee.  Admission for friends & family will be $5 at the door, of which an RSVP form can be found at www.grissomchoir.com/choralaccords.  The last day to be able to RSVP is THIS COMING Wednesday, May 14th

Paper Plate Award Submissions
At our Choral Accords, every student in the department will be given a “Paper Plate” Award: awards written & given by students to their peers, written on a paper plate.  Students, visit the following link to submit your nomination for a friend!  Remember, there is no guarantee this award will be chosen for this individual.  Each of the selected awards will be read at our Choral Accords, so ensure they are appropriate!  The link can be found at www.grissomchoir.com/choralaccords.  The last day to be able to submit awards is THIS COMING Wednesday, May 14th

End-Of-Year Assessments
At the end of this past week, we began our End-Of-Year Assessments for all underclassmen, which doubles as our Concert Choir Auditions (4 Scales, Yearly Assessment) and our Chamber Choir Auditions (4 Scales, Level 4 Sight-Reading, Prepared Piece (available on now!).  Those auditioning for Chamber Choir, please make sure you have signed up for an audition time-slot, which can be found on the Grissom Choir Bulletin Board.

NYC Post Exam Rehearsal Dates
Singers (including seniors!), we will have mandatory rehearsals following three of our regular exams at the end of the school year from 12:40-3:40.  Lunch will be provided for you on these days!

Chamber Choir Baccalaureate Performance
The Chamber Choir will be performing at this year’s Baccalaureate Service on Tuesday, May 20th at Trinity United Methodist Church.  The event begins at 7:00pm, with Chamber Choir call time at 5:30pm for rehearsal.  Seniors will wear Cap & Gowns, underclassmen will wear Concert Uniforms.

Concert & Chamber Choir Graduation Performance
The Concert & Chamber Choir will be performing at Grissom’s Graduation Service on the evening of Friday, May 23rd at 5:30pm.  Student call time in the VBC Arena will be 5:00pm (or as soon as the doors open) for a Final Rehearsal.  Seniors will wear Cap & Gowns, underclassmen will wear Concert Uniforms.

Fees
Please ensure that all fees (Basic Support, All-State, Uniforms, etc..) for this year have been paid in My Music Office. Seniors who have not paid will not be allowed to walk, and underclassmen who have not paid will not be able to register and receive their schedules for next year. Please look at previous emails from our treasurer concerning any over-due payments Grissom Choir related, or check your MMO account online!
