This Week in Choir: Week 4

Good Afternoon Grissom Choir,

Thank you to each student, parent, and guardian who attended our Parent Meeting this past Monday night.  We had a 78.3% attendance rate for Grissom Choir members, which is a great turn out!  I am so thrilled at the support that our students have as they continue their choral music education.

Sheet Sale Fundraiser
We began our Sheet Sale Fundraiser at our Parent Meeting last week, and have been running for 2 full weeks!  This fundraiser is always a success for students who have participated in the past, and I encourage all students to participate in order to raise money for their Basic Support Fee and other Grissom Choir related fees, e.i. All-City, All-State Pizza & Pop, & Solo & Ensemble!  Information concerning this fundraiser can be found at www.grissomchoir.com/fundraisers, and will also be sent home with each student this coming week.  For those that participate, all order forms, monies, & swatches should be turned into the Grissom Choir Money Box by NEXT Thursday/Friday, August 28th/29th.

All-City Advisory Rehearsals
For those auditioning for All-City, please be reminded it is your responsibility to learn this music on your own.  The choir room is open during Adivsory for you to come and practice.  You must have a pass from your teacher, physical or through E-Pass, or I must have an email or phone call from them in order for you to come!

Fall Concert Solo Auditions
Auditions for our Fall Concert Solos will be held during advisory Tuesday-Friday of this coming week.  Please pick the day that works best for you.  Measure numbers have been posted on Canvas under the Announcements Tab!

Fall Concert Performance
Our Fall Concert is quickly approaching! The concert will be held on the evening of Tuesday, September 9th at 7:30pm, directly following Open House. Student call time is at 6:30pm in “Sunday Best” attire.  Admission to this concert is $5 for all adults, and free for students, with doors opening at 7:15pm for seating.  Please remember that it is a requirement for all Grissom Choir members to participate in our public concerts.

Fall Concert Final Rehearsal
There will be a required final rehearsal on Monday, September 8th for all students directly after school. It is imperative that all students are present at this rehearsal in order to figure out how we will be getting on & off the stage, and to have a final run-through with our accompanist and instrumentalists. Students that are not present at this rehearsal will not be allowed to perform at the Fall Concert.  Should there be a conflict, please reach out to me.  All students will be dismissed by 5pm.  Please remember that it is a requirement for all Grissom Choir members to participate in our final rehearsals.
