Good Afternoon Grissom Choir,

This coming week is Fall Concert Week!  I am so excited to share with friends and family all that our Grissom Choir students have been preparing these past 5 weeks.  Be sure to read everything below concerning this event, and all other great things happening in Grissom Choir!

Fall Concert Performance
Our Fall Concert is THIS COMING WEEK! The concert will be held on the evening of Tuesday, September 9th at 7:30pm, directly following Open House. Student call time is at 6:30pm in “Sunday Best” attire.  Admission to this concert is $5 for all adults, and free for students, with doors opening at 7:15pm for seating.  Please remember that it is a requirement for all Grissom Choir members to participate in our public concerts.

Fall Concert Final Rehearsal
There will be a required final rehearsal THIS COMING Monday, September 8th for all students directly after school. It is imperative that all students are present at this rehearsal in order to figure out how we will be getting on & off the stage, and to have a final run-through with our accompanist and instrumentalists. Students that are not present at this rehearsal will not be allowed to perform at the Fall Concert.  Should there be a conflict, please reach out to me.  All students will be dismissed by 5pm.  Please remember that it is a requirement for all Grissom Choir members to participate in our final rehearsals.

Post-Rehearsal Ice-Cream Social
Directly following our rehearsal on Monday, we will have an informal Ice-Cream Social at Handel's Ice-Cream in Jones Valley.  If able, come share, enjoy, and get to know the other members of Grissom Choir!

T-Shirts
T-Shirts are IN! Students (or Parents/Guardians) who ordered, and have also paid for the Basic Support, set up a payment plan, or have fundraised will be able to pick up their shirt before/after school, or in Advisory!

All-State Music
All-State music is IN!  Students who registered, and have also paid for the Basic Support, set up a payment plan, or have fundraised will be able to pick up their packets before/after school, or in Advisory!

All-City Choral Festival Auditions
Auditions for this year’s All-City Choral Festival are in two weeks!  SSAA Auditions will be held on Monday, September 22nd, & SATB Auditions will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd, both of which will be held HERE AT GRISSOM directly after school.  Students, please ensure that you have a ride after the auditions are over, and are fully prepared with the following:

    1. All Music in its Folder (including Battle Hymn, which will be handed out this coming week)
    2. Measures Numbered
    3. Parts learned via Practice Tracks (grissomchoir.com)

It is my expectation that all students that registered follow through with their commitment by practicing and auditioning.  We have 104 students auditioning this year, and I want every single one of these Grissom Choir members to audition & be accepted.  Should there be any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
