This Week in Choir: Week 7

​Good Afternoon Grissom Choir,

Thank you students for a remarkable Fall Concert this past week.  This has been my favorite Fall Concert to date, and our best sounding Fall Concert to date.  Thank you Parents/Guardians for supporting our students and Grissom Choir as a whole.  I am very proud of every member, and you should be too!

Congratulations to the 22 Grissom Choir students & 8 parents that worked the concessions stand this past Friday at the football game! These students raised upwards of $125 EACH to go towards their Grissom Choir fees!

T-Shirts & All-State Music
T-Shirts & All-State Music is IN! Students (or Parents/Guardians) who ordered/registered, and have also paid for the Basic Support, set up a payment plan, or have fundraised will be able to pick up their shirt/music packets before/after school, or in Advisory!

All-City Choral Festival Auditions
Auditions for this year’s All-City Choral Festival are in ONE week!  SSAA Auditions will be held on Monday, September 22nd, & SATB Auditions will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd, both of which will be held HERE AT GRISSOM directly after school.  Students, please ensure that you have a ride after the auditions are over, and are fully prepared with the following:

    1. All Music in its Folder (including Battle Hymn, which was handed out this past week)
    2. Measures Numbered
    3. Parts learned via Practice Tracks (grissomchoir.com)

It is my expectation that all students that registered follow through with their commitment by practicing and auditioning.  We have 104 students auditioning this year, and I want every single one of these Grissom Choir members to audition & be accepted.  Should there be any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Grissom Choir 5K Glow Run
The Grissom Choral Parents Association is excited to announce a new fundraiser for this Fall: a Grissom Choir 5K Glow Run to be held on the evening of Saturday, November 15th!  Proceeds from this run will benefit Grissom Choir as a whole and will go towards the various expenses that the department has throughout the year.  Grissom Choir GCPA Board Members, alongside the Leadership Team, will be organizing and manning the event, but we will need EVERY student and parent/guardian’s help in publicizing the event to the public in order to attract runners and registrants.  More information about the event itself, as well as registration for the 5K (AND 10K option!) will come out across the coming weeks.  Spread the word, encourage participation, and even considering RUNNING yourself!
