The Solo & Ensemble Performance Assessment (AVA) provides students with the opportunity to perform individually or in small ensembles for a panel of adjudicators and receive constructive feedback on their musical performance. Students earning a Superior rating are awarded a medal in recognition of their achievement.
The $15 solo registration fee or $25 ensemble registration fee is not included in each student’s Basic Support Fee and must be paid by students who choose to participate.
Soloists are required to perform two contrasting selections. Because of the level of preparation expected, students participating as soloists are required to take private voice lessons or receive regular vocal coaching in preparation for the assessment.
