This Week in Choir: Week 7

Good Afternoon Grissom Choir,

We had a great turnout of participants in this year’s Sheet Sale! As a whole, Grissom Choir sold $7,590 worth of sheets, resulting in over $3,429 raised that will go directly toward students’ My Music Office fees and the various extracurricular choir events in which they participate. The current estimated delivery window for the sheets is the week after Fall Break. Please be on the lookout for an update via Remind or email once they arrive!

Grissom Choir Glow Run
The Grissom Choir is excited to announce that this year’s Grissom Choir Glow Run will be held on the evening of THIS COMING Saturday, September 19th, which is just two weeks away! Proceeds from the event will benefit Grissom Choir as a whole, helping support the many expenses our department incurs throughout the school year. We are also excited to be partnering with Fleet Feet to assist with professional race-day timing and logistics, helping us provide an organized and enjoyable race experience for all participants. GCPA Board Members, alongside our Grissom Choir Leadership Team, will be organizing and staffing the event, but we will need EVERY student and parent/guardian’s help in spreading the word throughout our community and encouraging runners to register! Spread the word, encourage your friends and family to participate, and even consider running yourself! We are excited to make this a fun and successful event for Grissom Choir!

All-City Choral Festival Auditions
Auditions for this year’s All-City Choral Festival are next week! Both SSA & SATB auditions will be held Thursday, September 24 HERE AT GRISSOM directly after school. Students, please make sure you have arranged for a ride home after your audition and that you arrive fully prepared with the following:

1. All music in your folder, including Battle Hymn, which will be handed out this coming week
2. All measures numbered
3. All parts learned and prepared using the practice tracks available at grissomchoir.com

It is my expectation that all students who registered follow through with their commitment by preparing and auditioning. We have 96 students auditioning this year, and I want every one of these Grissom Choir members to walk into their audition prepared, confident, and ready to be accepted!
