Driven Coffee Roasters Fundraiser DUE
Our Driven Coffee Roasters Fundraiser wraps up this week!  All forms & monies are due this coming Monday or Tuesday, depending on your class block.  Coffee will be delivered to Grissom Choir by Spring Break to ensure that students are able to hand out items in a timely manner.

Pizza & Pop Ticket RSVP
All friends and family members of Grissom Choir students are invited to join us for Pizza & Pop, located in the Martha deFord Hays Auditorium THIS COMING Friday, February 2nd at 6:00pm!  1 Ticket @ $10.00 each (sold at the door, cash & card accepted) includes a "showcase" style performance evening featuring our multi-talented Grissom Choir students, along with 2 slices of Pizza, a drink, chips, & dessert.  All attendees are required to RSVP by Wednesday, January 31st in order to attend.  Please visit www.grissomchoir.com/pizzapop to reserve your dinner & entertainment today!

Grissom Choir Honor Choir Participation
This spring, all 4 Grissom Choirs will be traveling down to the Birmingham Metro Area for 2 different Honor Choirs:

Men’s & Women’s Choirs: THIS Monday, January 29th: University of Montevallo’s ChoralFest!
Concert & Chamber Choirs: NEXT Monday, February 5th: University of Alabama in Birmingham’s Honor Choir:

These honor choirs are designed to affirm the participation of young singers in the vocal arts. The choirs are comprised of high school students throughout the State of Alabama. Students work closely with the festival clinician in intense rehearsals focusing on musicianship skills, voice building, and ensemble performance. The choir also rehearses and performs side-by-side the collegiate choirs. Students will experience concerts and masterclasses, and will perform with seasoned professionals on traditional and exciting new choral repertoire.  A more detailed letter per honor choir has been emailed, as well as handed out in class.  Please mark your calendars for these days!!

4th Annual Grissom Choral Festival
This school year, Grissom Choir will be hosting its 4th Annual Grissom Choral Festival on Saturday, February 3rd, with a free public concert at 4:00pm that afternoon. This is a wonderful opportunity for current middle school students, grades 7th-8th, to sing and perform alongside current high school choir members and see what being in Grissom Choir is all about!  While this is a requirement for all Chamber Choir members & Leadership Team to be apart of, I encourage any and all current Grissom Choir students to attend this free 4:00pm concert on the afternoon of Saturday, February 3rd!

Chamber Choir State Capitol Performance
This year, our Chamber Choir has been selected by the Alabama State Department of Education, the Alabama Music Educator’s Association, and the Alabama Institute for Education in the Arts to perform in the rotunda of the Alabama State Capital Building during the 2024 Legislative Session.  We are honored and excited to have been selected for this collaborative project once more, and can’t wait to share in this experience with our students.  A Letter/Email was sent out this past week with more information, alongside a Digital Permission-to-Travel form.

Solo & Ensemble Registration
For the 2 soloists and 3 ensembles that have registered for Solo & Ensemble, your $15 (per soloist) or $25 (per ensemble) is DUE.  Music has been given out to all participants.  Our official date and time for this event is scheduled for the afternoon of Thursday, February 15th.  A Letter/Email will go out this coming week with more information, alongside a Digital Permission-to-Travel form.  All forms & monies will be due by Friday, February 9th.
