Congratulations to our Chamber Choir on a wonderful performance at this year’s Veteran’s Day Program, as well as our students who auditioned for the 2024 All-State Choral Festival!  Those results will be in within the next few weeks.

Chamber Choir Collegiate Choral Festival Invitation
This year, the Grissom Chamber Choir has been invited to perform in the Alabama Choral Directors Association’s annual Collegiate Choral Festival on Tuesday, November 14th at Trinity United Methodist Church (607 Airport Rd SW, Huntsville AL 35802).  The Collegiate Choral Festival is similar to our State Choral Performance Assessment, yet is designed for college choirs to participate in.  Rather than being adjudicated, each of the college choirs are given 20 minutes of 1-on-1 time with one of the clinicians in a workshop-like experience.  To my knowledge, we are the first high school in Alabama history to have been asked to participate, a tremendous honor for our program and school.  A more in-depth letter (along with a Digital Permission-to-Travel form) was handed and emailed out to Chamber Choir families 2 weeks ago.  Please see that letter for all information concerning this opportunity!


Winter Concert Performance
Our Winter Concert is quickly approaching!  The concert will be held on the evening of Tuesday, December 5th at 7:00pm. Student call time is at 5:30pm in their Concert Uniform attire, upon which new students will receive in the coming weeks.  We will be taking yearbook photos at this time, so it is important that everyone is on time!  Admission to this concert is $5 to the general public, & doors open at 6:45 for seating.  Please remember that it is a requirement for all Grissom Choir members to participate in our public concerts.


Winter Concert Final Rehearsal
There will be a required final rehearsal on Monday, December 4th for all students directly after school. It is imperative that all students are present at this rehearsal in order to figure out how we will be getting on & off the stage, and to have a final run-through with our accompanist. Students that are not present at this rehearsal will not be allowed to perform at the Winter Concert.  Men’s & Women’s Choir students will be dismissed by 5:00pm, Concert Choir students by 6:00pm, & Chamber Choir by 7:00pm.  Please remember that it is a requirement for all Grissom Choir members to participate in our final rehearsals.


Concert Uniforms
New students will receive their concert uniforms in the coming weeks in class.  Please remember that payment must be turned in for these uniforms in order for them to be taken home and worn.  Please reach out to our Treasurer, Amanda Francis, at [email protected], to ensure that this has been taken care of, or check your My Music Office account!
