​Good Afternoon Grissom Choir,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  We have so many great things planned for the Choral Department.  If you are returning, welcome back!  I hope that this year brings opportunity for you to learn and grow as a musician.  For those that are new, welcome to Grissom Choir!  I am VERY excited to meet you this week and see what this new year has in store.

Parent Meeting:

On Thursday August 15th, the Choral Department will host this year’s Choral Parents Meeting at 7:00pm in the Martha deFord Hayes Auditorium.  At this meeting, we will discuss the handbook in full, and all information concerning being a Choral Student and Parent.  This is a requirement for ALL students and parents.  New students will be fitted for uniforms, and a $25 discount will be awarded to families that pay the Basic Support Fee in full!


Choral Department Handbook:

This week, students will receive the 2019-2020 Choral Department Handbook, which includes the course syllabi, concerts and events, fundraisers, fee descriptions, and more.  At the end of the handbook, there are 4 forms that MUST be filled out in order to be in the Choral Department.  Please fill these out and return then by August 15th.


Show & Tell:

Students, on Thursday and Friday of this week, please bring an object to class that means something to you and be prepared to discuss in front of the class!  This is a 50 point assignment in iNow.


Grissom Choir Website:

Our website is now live for the new year!  It has been updated with new pictures, descriptions, information, and most importantly, REGISTRATIONS! This website will be used to register for all of the extra-curricular choral events throughout the year, and parents will be able to sign-up for chaperone duties for various events.  Feel free to visit www.grissomchoir.com and see what all is happening!
