Week 22

Good Afternoon Grissom Choir,


Any outside food and drink (fast food, Starbucks, Dunkin, etc…) will no longer be allowed in the choir room during class, NO EXCEPTIONS.  School breakfast and lunch are allowed, but for those that have choir 1st block, food must be consumed before 8:30.

For those that have choir 1st block, I have been VERY lenient towards tardiness and students have begun taking advantage of this.  It is not fair to those who are on time and are in their seats by 8:30 every day.  Beginning this week, if you are not in your seat by the time the bell rings, you will be required to sign the tardy log.  3 tardies will result in a Tiger Time Detention.

Beginning this week, ALL students will be required to place their phones in phone holders during class.  To encourage punctuality, I will be placing a power strip next to the phone pockets which will be available on a first come first serve basis.

Tiger Time Pictures

TOMORROW, January 27th, we will have Yearbook photos during Tiger Time/Advisory.  Women’s & Men’s Choir will be during 2nd Lunch (11:35), and Concert & Chamber Choir will be during 3rd Lunch (12:05).  You are required to bring your tuxes and dresses to school tomorrow morning (you may drop off in choir room before 1st block), and change in/out of them before/after your photo.  I will send out an email to all teachers dismissing you during these advisory times.  This is a requirement for ALL students.


UAB Honor Choir

Chamber Choir students, the UAB Honor Choir Festival is 1 week from tomorrow, February 3rd.  Please turn in $20 to the money box by the end of this week.  An itinerary will be given out in class this week.


Pizza & Pop Auditions

Auditions for Grissom Choir’s 2nd Annual Pizza & Pop talent night are Wednesday, February 12, directly after school in the choir room.  All students in the choral department are encouraged audition!  You may either sing a solo, sing in an ensemble setting, play an instrument, etc.  You must audition using the song you intend on performing the night of the event, and your song must be performance ready.  Karaoke tracks are allowed, but must be submitted using the Google Form.  I WILL NOT DOWNLOAD A TRACK FOR YOU.  Visit the link below to sign-up!

Nashville Heritage Festival Trip

For those students traveling to Nashville this coming April, we will be meeting this Thursday during 2nd lunch to rehearse.
