Good Evening Grissom Choir, It was a pleasure to welcome all students back into the classroom full time last week, and I am thankful to be able to make music as full choirs once more. This Week in Choir… Women’s Choir: Solfege Scales Review: Introduce Harmonic Minor Scale Continue learning All Things Bright & Beautiful & Lunar Lullaby Begin new repertoire Men’s Choir: Begin reviewing The Vagabond Continue learning Cover Me With The Night & Flying Solo Begin learning A Trilogy of Knighthood Concert Choir: Continue learning Vox Populi & Like A River In My Soul Finish reviewing The Word Was God Chamber Choir: Music Theory Review Continue learning Nyon Nyon & All That Hath Life and Breath Finish reviewing Sing Me To Heaven in depth Continue learning Sicut Cervus by section. Sight-Reading Factory Beginning this week, all students will have a weekly Sight-Reading Factory Assignment. These assignments will be due the following Sunday. Please see the Schoology assignment for all instructions. Remember, I am not looking for perfection, only vulnerability and work-ethic! Sweatshirt Order Forms We will be selling Sweatshirts once again this year! Please visit www.grissomchoir.com/merchandise to order yours! The order page will only be up this week! All-State Choral Festival For those that were selected to participate in this year’s All-State Choral Festival, I have sent out an email, of which I need a response as soon as possible! Solo & Ensemble Festival For those that are interested in participating in Solo & Ensemble this year, please take a look at our website at www.grissomchoir.com/soloensemble and read the description of this great event! If you wish to register, please click on the 2021 link on that page, and read the information for virtual participation this year. Then click Register Now, and fill out the form that appears! The deadline to register is next week! Uniform Sizing New students, we began sizing you for your Concert Uniforms last week, and we will finish up this week. It is important that you are in class during your class time so that you do not miss you fitting. HVA students in Men’s & Women’s Choir, please make arrangements to come to your choir class, Men’s - Thursday/A2, Women’s - Friday/B2, for your fitting. You may enter through the attendance office in the back, and tell them that you are here for choir. If there are any students on quarantine during these times, please reach out in order to arrange alternate times.
