I was so thrilled with everyones performance at our Fall Concert on Thursday!  Working on this music the past 6 weeks has been a joy, and shows me how great of a year we will have in Grissom Choir! Bravo to all!!

All-City Choral Festival Auditions
Auditions for this year’s All-City Choral Festival are next week!  SSA Auditions will be held on Monday, September 19th at Whitesburg MS directly after school.  SATB Auditions will be held on Tuesday, September 20th at Lee HS directly after school.  Students, please ensure that you have a ride to and from the auditions, and are fully prepared with the following:


    1. All Music in its Folder
    2. Measures Numbered
    3. Parts learned via Practice Tracks


It is my expectation that all students that registered follow through with their commitment by practicing and auditioning.  We have upwards of 70 students auditioning this year, and I want every single one of these Grissom Choir members to be accepted.  Should there be any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.


The University of Montevallo’s Choral Festival of Voices
This school year, the University of Montevallo will be hosting a 1 day Honor Choir on Friday, September 30th, titled the Choral Festival of Voices.  For those students in our Concert Choir at Grissom, we will be traveling down via bus on this day to participate in this great festival. The price of this field trip is $30, & students will need to bring money for lunch and dinner.  More information was emailed out 2 weeks ago to our Concert Choir Families.  Students, please be sure to turn in your Permission to Travel form, as well as your $30 registration fee ASAP!


All-State Audition Date Change
Students, I have had to make an executive decision when it comes to the date of our All-State auditions.  In order to not cause conflicts with our districts Trumbauer competition that is also on November 4th & 5th, our new audition date for All-State will be on Sunday, November 6th at Florence High School in Florence, AL.  It has yet to be determined wether we will be traveling via bus or via chaperone car-pooling.  As soon as this is decided, I will let everyone know.  Music has been ordered, and will be here this week!  Once you have submitted your $30 Audition Registration Fee, you will be able to pick-up your music and start practicing!
